Kuki-Zo Council Ends Indefinite Shutdown But Vows to Oppose Free Movement

March 13, 2025: The Kuki-Zo Council has officially lifted the indefinite shutdown, which had been in place, as of 7:30 PM today, according to a release.

The decision, reportedly made after careful deliberation, allows normal activities to resume.

However, the Council has made it clear that while the shutdown has ended, the Kuki-Zo community remains firmly opposed to the Free Movement policy introduced by the Home Ministry, arguing that it undermines the pursuit of justice.

Reaffirming their stance, the Council stated that any move towards unrestricted free movement would continue to be strongly resisted until justice is duly served for the Kuki-Zo people.

They reiterated their commitment to securing a separate political administration, which they believe is essential to ensuring justice, peace, and progress for their community.
