Amid circulating claims that Kuki-Zo legislators had resolved to join a proposed popular ministry in Manipur, the Kuki-Zo MLAs have issued a clarification stating that no such decision was ever taken.
According to the clarification, a meeting was held at the Guwahati Enclave where the idea of a popular ministry was discussed in broad terms.
However, the MLAs emphasised that no resolution was adopted to join the formation, and several Kuki-Zo MLAs were not even present during the interaction.
Instead, the meeting reportedly centred on an in-depth discussion on the demand for a Separate Administration for the Kuki-Zo community, with deliberations reflecting the gravity of the ongoing situation in the state.
The MLAs appealed to the public not to be swayed by misleading interpretations or rumours that misrepresent the outcome of the meeting.
They also urged all concerned to exercise responsibility and refrain from circulating unverified claims during this sensitive period.
The clarification was issued by Haokholet Kipgen, MLA of 51-Saitu AC and Convenor of CAA, and Chinlunthang, MLA of 60-Singhat AC and Secretary.
