Feb 20, 2025: In an operation conducted early this morning, the Commando Unit Kakching apprehended a cadre of the banned organization KYKL from the Kakching Sumak Leikai area. The arrested individual has been identified as Mayanglambam Kiran Singh, alias Tikendrajit, aged 43, son of late M. Nimai Singh, residing at Kakching Sumak Leikai, Victory School Pareng, Kakching District.
According to sources, Mayanglambam Kiran Singh confessed to his involvement in extorting money from the public in Imphal West and Kakching areas. He revealed that he currently holds the rank of Corporal within the KYKL and operates under the command of S/S 2nd Lieutenant Premjit of the same organization. Kiran Singh disclosed that he underwent basic training for 45 days in Tannan, Myanmar, upon joining the KYKL in 2006.
The seized items from the operation include a mobile phone.
The Kakching Police Station has registered a case and initiated further investigation into the matter.
