Feb. 16, 2025: A Legal Awareness Programme cum Recreational Sports event was held at the Moirang Khunou Makha Leikai Playground, organised by the District Legal Services Authority, Bishnupur; the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), and the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
The event was supported by the Moirang Khunou Khongnang Makhong (KYDA) Club and various relief camps in the area. The programme aimed to raise awareness about legal rights and services while also promoting recreational activities for the residents.
It was coordinated by N. Bonita Devi, a para-legal volunteer from the District Legal Services Authority, who spoke at the event, emphasising the importance of legal knowledge and providing guidance on how to access legal aid.
The event saw participation from several local relief camps, including Moirang Khunou Relief Camp, Moirang Khunou Mayai Leikai Relief Camp, Moirang Khunou Maning Leikai Relief Camp, and the Moirang Khunou Khongnang Makhong KYDA Club Relief Camp. The attendees also included community members from the Thanga Lawai Relief Camp.
In addition to legal awareness, the programme featured a series of recreational sports activities, which included traditional games and a fun-filled atmosphere that brought together people of all ages. Books and pens were also distributed to the children of the relief camps to support their education.
Local residents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, and many participated in the games, showing a sense of unity and solidarity. The day concluded on a high note, with both the legal sessions and recreational activities contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
