Feb. 10, 2025: Lila-drama, described as a powerful societal tool, took center stage at KDU’s 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee celebration, where Bobbyjames Wahengbam, Convenor of the KDU Diamond Jubilee Celebration Committee, highlighted its pivotal role in shaping cultural narratives.
Addressing the audience, Bobbyjames asserted, “Lila-drama is not merely a form of entertainment; it is a way of life, a discussion of society, and a mirror reflecting its image.”
He elaborated on how Lila-drama engages both the older and younger generations, fostering awareness while preserving Manipuri cultural values and traditions. He also pointed out the drama’s ability to address pressing social issues, making it a vital part of community life.
