IMPHAL, 20 Jan 2025 : The Lions Club of Imphal Central conducted an Eye Health Camp under the theme “An Eye for Vision” at the Shang-gai Senior Citizen Home, Bashikhong Kitnapanung, and the Senior Citizen Home (Old Age Home), Kongba Nongthombam Leikai.
The program, held in memory of Late Meitankeishangbam Chaobihal Devi and Late Hajarimayum Ibetombi Devi, was sponsored by Lion Hajarimayum Surajkumar Sharma, Hajarimayum Sachinkumar Sharma, and Hajarimayum Ongbi M. Brindasakhi Devi.
A team led by Dr. Khangembam Rajendra, a renowned ophthalmologist, provided free eye health checkups and testing services to 30 residents of the homes.
The Lions Club pledged to provide free spectacles to those in need and extend support for cataract surgeries by facilitating free treatment at the State Ophthalmic Cell.
The initiative was part of the Lions Club’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of senior citizens, ensuring they receive essential medical care and support.
