A two-day Environmental Leadership Programme for Youth, jointly organized by the Lions Club of Imphal and Standard College, Kongba, concluded today at the college conference hall.
Altogether, 33 students participated in the event.
On the opening day, Lion MJF H. Manikumar Singh, Past District Governor, emphasized the need for young leaders with vision and motivation. Sessions on climate action and pollution reduction were conducted by Dr. T. Brajakumar, Director of Environment and Climate Change, and Lion MJF L. Swamikanta. Group activities were guided by Lion Dr. Bonbirdhwaja Akham, IFS (Retd).
The second day featured student presentations, with the best groups receiving prizes sponsored by Lion Dr. L. Ibetombi Devi. Students were declared “Young Leaders” and gifted saplings.
An eye screening camp, held in observance of 100 years of Helen Keller’s “Knights of the Blind” appeal, benefited around 60 students and faculty.
