Lions Service Week Concludes with Mass Tree Plantation at Heingang Reserved Forest

Imphal, April 26 : Lions International District 322D, Manipur Region, on Sunday concluded the “Lions Service Week Environment 2026” with a mass tree plantation drive at Heingang Reserved Forest, under the theme “One Multiple One Activity”.

The concluding function was held at the Marjing Polo Statue Complex, Imphal East District.

The event was attended by Central Forest Division DFO Vikram Nadhe, IFS; IPDG Lions Th. Kesho Singh; District Chairperson Environment Th. Mohendra Pratap Singh; VDG Elect Dr. N. Romi Singh; District Coordinator GST Dr. P. Rajmani Singh; RC Y. Ranjit Singh; ZC Dr. Leenthoi Ningombam; Range Officer Sadar East M. Jovid; DC Lion W. Tijendro Singh; environmentalist M. Inaobi Singh; and several Lion leaders from different clubs across Manipur.

As part of the programme, Lions International District 322D, Manipur Region, along with Central Forest Division officers and officials, Joint Forest Committee Heingang members, and local residents, planted a large number of tree saplings in the Heingang Reserved Forest.

Speaking on the occasion, District Chairperson Environment-II Lions Th. Mahendra Pratap said the campaign is being carried out worldwide with a single goal to protect and preserve the planet.

“With the growing population and the various challenges posed by global warming, this initiative aims to safeguard Planet Earth and create a better planet for human society,” he said.

He added that the tree plantation drive is a step toward mitigating environmental problems and promoting a greener, more sustainable future.
