Like Minded Group (LMG) Manipur, a humanitarian service group, has done a yeoman service once again on Thursday by extending Rupees 10,000.00 (Ten Thousand) to one Namaram Ningol Kayenpaibam Ongbi Khomei, 70, wife of late Kumar of Moidangpok, Imphal West. Khomei is a tenant farmer as well as an old daily wage earner woman. She struggled to cultivate rice in a vulnerable area.
Like Minded Group came across a viral video showing Khomei crying helplessly on seeing her piles of unthreshed rice being burnt down by some unknown miscreants on Monday night. Immediately, LMG Manipur decided to help the victim Khomei with financial aid.
Extending the aid, LMG Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam stated that burning down someone’s unthreshed rice is a cruel act against humanity. It’s a heinous crime, and such acts of burning down unthreshed rice have been going on for years. The Like Minded Group (LMG) Manipur strongly condemns this act and demands justice for the victims, he demanded. He also cautioned farmers to stay at their respective paddy fields at night so that unthreshed rice cannot be burnt down by miscreants.
LMG Advisory Board member Sobita Mongjam, Publicity Secretary Rakesh Naorem, Treasurer Kunjeshwor Mangsatabam, Assistant Secretary Surendra Ningomba and members Surjit Ngangom, PK Huirongbam, Boinao Maibam, and Sanatomba also took part in the financial extending event.
