JAN 13, 2026 (IMP): After an incident of fire at a prefabricated house due to a reportedly poorly wired electric circuit at Utlou Sajor Loukon on Jan 12, the Like Minded Group (LMG) Manipur extended financial assistance of Rs 5,000 as immediate relief to the family sheltering in the relief camp today.

The said fire, reportedly caused by a short circuit, completely destroyed all household belongings kept inside the house of Moirangthem Kiran Singh, a resident of Churachandpur presently staying at the relief camp.

During the relief assistance, Kiran Singh’s wife, Abe, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Like Minded Group, Manipur, for their timely support during this difficult time.

The relief team was led by LMG President L. Kunjeshwor Sharma, Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, Treasurer Kunjeshwor Mangsatabam, Assistant Secretary Surendra Ningomba, and members Joykumar Thokchom and Mohen Ingudam.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam stated that although this incident occurred in a single house due to electrical wiring issues, there is a serious risk of similar fires in other prefabricated houses if proper wiring checks are not conducted. He emphasized that all electrical fittings in prefabricated houses must be thoroughly inspected to prevent such unfortunate incidents and appealed to the concerned authorities to take necessary preventive measures.
