Thoubal, Jan 07: The Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur, has extended financial support of ₹10,000 to Elangbam Thoiba, whose one-year-old child was hit by a stray bullet fired from an unknown direction on New Year’s Eve evening, Thursday, around 4:30 pm in Imphal West district.
The incident occurred while the injured child, identified as Thoithoiba, the youngest son of Elangbam Thoiba and Lakhirani, was sleeping in a room of their rented house at Naoremthong Khullen Leikai. The injured family, originally hailing from Jiribam Lamdai Khullen of Jiribam, had moved to Imphal due to the ethnic conflict in May 2023.

The LMG delegation, led by Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, visited RIMS on Wednesday and handed over the financial assistance to Thoiba’s family.
Secretary Ojit expressed shock and sadness over the incident. He also urged the authorities to take necessary measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
