Thoubal, November 19: A 22-year-old man was found dead early this morning near the Karanchi checkon area between Moirangpali and Tentha road, under the jurisdiction of Thoubal Police Station in Sangaiyumpham Part-II.
Locals travelling along the route reportedly discovered the body and alerted authorities. The deceased has been identified as Md. Askar Ali alias Boycha, son of Md. Mujafar Ali of Sangaiyumpham Part-II, Sabal Khunou, near Nurwali Masjid.
The cause of death remains unknown at this stage. Police have registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case and begun an investigation into the incident.
The body has been shifted to the JNIMS mortuary for post-mortem examination, sources said.
