The Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh, organised a condolence meeting on January 8, 2026, following the sudden demise of Meinam Bhorot Singh, a senior party leader who served as MLA, national secretary of the BJP, and as the founder and former state president of the party in Manipur.
The meeting was held at the BJP state headquarters at Thambal Sanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal, where party leaders and workers gathered to remember his contributions to the organisation and public life.
Addressing the gathering, the state BJP president A.Sharda Devi expressed profound grief over the passing of the veteran leader and extended condolences to his family, according to a press release issued by L. Deben Singh, General Secretary, BJP Manipur Pradesh. A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The condolence meeting was attended by party office bearers, elected representatives, spokespersons, morcha presidents, district and mandal leaders, and party workers.
