The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) declared the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam results for 2025 on Monday, May 12. This year, the Board recorded an overall pass percentage of 91.37%.
A total of 36,943 students appeared for the Class 10 examination conducted by the Board, with 18,387 male students and 18,556 female students. Out of these, 33,755 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 91.37%. Nine students’ results are withheld. The HSLC exams were conducted from February 19 to March 7, 2025, across the state.
According to official data, the overall pass percentage of 91.37% for HSLC 2025 has decreased in comparison with last year’s pass percentage of 93.03% in 2024. However, this year’s percentage is higher compared to 82.82% in 2023 and 76% in 2022.
In terms of district-wise performance, Kakching district achieved the highest pass percentage at 98.47%, followed by Noney at 97.78% and Chandel at 95.95%. Pherzawl district recorded the lowest pass percentage at 56.76%.
While comparing private schools, government schools, and aided schools: a total of 27,332 students appeared from private schools, of which 25,734 students passed, with a pass percentage of 94.15%. A total of 8,404 students appeared from government schools, out of which 6,918 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 82.32%. A total of 1,207 students appeared from aided schools and 1,103 passed, achieving a pass percentage of 91.38%.
The BOSEM Exam 2025 result was declared by Education (S) Secretary, Naorem Praveen Singh, in the presence of BOSEM Chairman, Akham Joykumar; BOSEM Secretary, S. Jitelal Sharma; and Director of Education (S), Ng. Bhogendra Meitei.
Education (S) Secretary, Naorem Praveen Singh, wished all students who passed in the declared exam all the best and thanked all BOSEM staff, teachers, and the Deputy Commissioners of all districts of Manipur for their collaboration in conducting the exam without any hindrance.
“The adoption of the new system (giving marks in grades) is in line with NEP-2020. It was started last year, 2024, with an aim to enhance the overall performance of the students without giving undue pressure and stress to the students,” Naorem Praveen said.
