Manipur CM Handed Over Ex-Gratia to the Family of Deceased Minor of Relief Camp

April 11, 2026 (IMP): Sharing the grief and sorrow of the internally displaced minor in Manipur, who was recovered dead after going missing, Manipur CM Y. Khemchand Singh today handed over an ex-gratia amounting to Rs. 10,00,000 to the family members of the deceased in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East, Dr. Nivedita Lairenlakpam.

The Chief Minister also met the bereaved family at the Akampat Relief Camp, Imphal, and expressed his heartfelt condolences and shared the grief and pain of the aggrieved family. He assured all possible help to the family members and that justice will be delivered soon.

The majority of families in Akampat Relief Camp are from Moreh, except for 2 to 3 families from Churachandpur. During the visit, many of the IDPs also urged the CM to set up an IRB Battalion in Moreh for the security of people in the border town.
