Manipur Congress Prez Hits Conrad Sangma’s Visit to State

The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee President and MLA, K. Meghachandra, alleged that NPP Chief and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma’s visit to the state aims to revive the NDA’s weakened base in Manipur.

The Congress MLA said the BJP and NPP are two sides of the same coin, adding that since 2017, both parties have played a major role in destroying the stability and spirit of the state. He further stated that the BJP and its alliance partners have failed to protect Manipur’s integrity and unity, restore peace, and deliver justice to the people.

“The National People’s Party (NPP) has today become a close ally and political partner of the BJP. The recent visit of NPP Chief and Meghalaya Chief Minister Shri Conrad K. Sangma to Manipur is nothing but an attempt to strengthen the party organisation and reinforce ties with the BJP,” the Congress MLA wrote on his X account, censuring Sangma’s visit.

The Manipur Congress leader also wrote, “The people of Manipur are now demanding real change—a change for peace, accountability, and inclusive progress.” He added that the Congress Party stands firmly with the people in their struggle to restore democratic values and rebuild the true idea of Manipur.
