Ukhrul, May 11, 2025 — The Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur, undertook a two-day visit to Ukhrul District to assess the overall law and order situation and review the security arrangements ahead of the upcoming Shirui Festival, scheduled to be held from May 20 to 24, 2025.
During his visit, the DGP inspected key police establishments, including the offices of the Superintendent of Police, Ukhrul Police Station, Litan Police Station, and the 6th Manipur Rifles Battalion Headquarters. He also chaired a high-level security meeting with district police officials and held discussions with officers from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and the Assam Rifles (AR) regarding coordinated security measures.
In preparation for the festival, the DGP visited all major event venues and cultural sites to oversee on-ground preparedness. He interacted with field-level officers and issued specific briefings and directives to ensure the festival is conducted in a peaceful, safe, and well-coordinated manner.
