IMPHAL, 24 JAN 2025 : As Manipur drums up for the 76th Republic Day Celebration, the full-dress parade rehearsal was held here in Imphal on Thursday morning.
For this year’s celebration in Manipur, the five-time world boxing champion and Arjuna awardee Laishram Sarita, MPS SP-Sports, will be seen as the overall parade commander, and RK Saklemba, MPS CO-4IRB, will be the reserve commander. And altogether 65 march-past contingents will take part in the main event in Manipur’s historic Kangla that ex-servicemen, cultural troupes, and students.
This theme of Republic Day 2025 is Swarnim Bharat—Virasat aur Vikas’ (Golden India—Heritage and Development), reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage and its ongoing journey of progress.
