Manipur Excluded as Rs. 1554.99 Crore Assistance Approved for Flood-Hit States

Feb 19, 2025 : The High-Level Committee (HLC), chaired by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, has approved Rs. 1554.99 crore in additional central assistance to five states—Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana, and Tripura—affected by floods, flash floods, landslides, and cyclonic storms in 2024.

This move reflects the Central Government’s commitment to aiding affected communities under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

However, Manipur, which has been hit by floods twice this year, is notably absent from the list of states receiving this assistance.

The approved funds for the five states include Rs. 608.08 crore for Andhra Pradesh, Rs. 170.99 crore for Nagaland, Rs. 255.24 crore for Odisha, Rs. 231.75 crore for Telangana, and Rs. 288.93 crore for Tripura.

The government has already released significant funds to other states during the current financial year, including allocations from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
