In the wake of the deadly ambush that killed two Assam Rifles soldiers and left five others injured in Bishnupur district on Friday, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla convened a high-level security meeting at Raj Bhavan on Saturday evening.
The review brought together senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, Army commanders from Eastern Command and 3 Corps, Assam Rifles inspectors general, state police leadership, CRPF and BSF officers, and intelligence representatives.
Deliberations centered on strengthening security in vulnerable and sensitive locations such as highways, transit routes, and border areas. The meeting underscored the need for enhanced patrolling, tighter intelligence gathering, and closer coordination among all agencies to ensure a swift response and prevent further attacks.
The Governor urged that law and order be enforced firmly across both hill and valley districts, stressing vigilance as key to maintaining peace and public safety.
