Manipur Govt Committed to Creating Thriving Environment for Youth: CM Khemchand

March 14, 2026 (IMP): Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh attended a felicitation ceremony of NCC cadets from the state at the NCC Ground at DM University Campus in Imphal on Saturday and assured government support in creating a thriving environment for the youth of the state.

In his brief address, the Chief Minister said the seven cadets felicitated today for their achievements have filled the hearts of every Manipuri with pride and joy.

The seven are Cadet Senior Under Officer (CSUO) Swaty Laishram, Cadet Under Officer (CUO) Konsam Moramba Meitei, CUO Ningthoujam Pinky Devi, Senior Under Officer (SUO) Leitanthem Chanchan Devi, SUO Rojita Waikhom, Cadet Stephen Samu Sampar and Cadet P. Silvester.

“We are here to celebrate a moment of immense pride for the entire state of Manipur,” the Chief Minister added. He also congratulated the NCC Group Headquarters, Imphal, for their relentless efforts in shaping the future of the state and added that the cadets are the architects of the new Manipur — a Manipur that is peaceful, progressive and prosperous.

Upon his arrival at the NCC Group Headquarters, Imphal, the Chief Minister inspected a Guard of Honour. CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh, accompanied by Wing Commander Mutum Sandip Singh, Commanding Officer of 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC, also participated in a flight simulator session at the unit’s headquarters.

Today’s function was attended by Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh. Joykisan Singh, DM University Vice Chancellor Dr. W. Chandbabu Singh, Brigadier Shri Vikrant Kulkarni, cadets, staff and officers of the NCC. Additionally, around 2,000 cadets from districts such as Churachandpur and Ukhrul joined the function through video conferencing.
