Manipur Guv AK Bhalla Donates Blood on National Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2025

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla led by example by donating blood on National Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2025 at JNIMS, jointly organised by Helping Hands for People Manipur and State Blood Cell, NHM Manipur.

“The day reminds us of the lifesaving power of voluntary blood donation and our collective responsibility to ensure no life is lost for want of blood,” the Manipur Governor wrote in his social media post with a picture of him donating blood.

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is observed every year on October 1. It was first observed on October 1, 1975, by the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology, an organisation founded on October 22, 1971.

Blood donation is increasingly considered a noble act that can save many lives and help in the management of certain disorders. Donating blood not only benefits the receiver but also the donor, as it stimulates the formation of new blood cells.
