8 March 2025: Manipur Home Guard personnel Salam Niranjan has been conferred the International Award at the Asian Dalit Sahitya Conference 2025, held at the Dalit Sahitya Academy in Kathmandu, Nepal, in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian service.
Following this prestigious honor, Niranjan received a warm welcome from the All Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association at its office in Imphal.
Association President Y. Mangi lauded Niranjan’s unwavering commitment and his significant contributions to the welfare and upliftment of Home Guard personnel in the state.
Mangi emphasized the crucial role played by over 2,000 Home Guard personnel in ensuring public safety and service excellence, often under challenging conditions.
Taking the opportunity, he also urged the government to implement Supreme Court and High Court directives on allowances, promotions, and seniority benefits, asserting that Home Guard personnel serve on par with state police constables and deserve better recognition and support.
