Manipur Launches Sardar@150 Unity Campaign under Viksit Bharat Padyatra

As part of the nationwide Sardar@150 Unity Campaign initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Manipur formally launched the campaign today at the Manipur Press Club, Major Khul, Imphal. The initiative commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, celebrating his legacy of national unity and integrity.

Naorem Praveen, Secretary of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, announced the commencement of the campaign in the state. He said the program aims to foster a sense of unity, service, and responsible citizenship among youth while honoring Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India.

Under the campaign, a Viksit Bharat Padyatra will be conducted across all 16 districts of Manipur, organized in coordination with district administrations and youth officers. District-level activities will include essay competitions, seminars, workshops, and awareness drives to mobilize volunteers and encourage youth participation.

The final leg of the program will select 150 winners nationwide to participate in a 152-km national march from Karamsad, Sardar Patel’s birthplace, to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat, scheduled from November 26 to December 6. The march will feature 150 stoppages with exhibitions on Sardar Patel’s life and cultural performances representing India’s diversity.

Secretary Naorem Praveen urged the youth of Manipur to actively engage in the campaign and contribute to building a developed, united, and inclusive India.
