Manipur Logs 33 New COVID-19 Cases; Active Caseload Climbs to 132

Manipur has recorded 33 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections reported since June 1 to 145, according to data released by IDSP-75/covid/2020. The new cases were detected from 101 samples tested between 2 PM on June 21 and 2 PM on June 22. The latest cases include 27 from Imphal West, 3 from Imphal East, and 3 from Thoubal district.

With five recoveries reported today, the cumulative number of discharged patients has risen to 13. The state’s active caseload now stands at 132, of which 122 patients are currently under home isolation. All five recoveries today were also from home isolation. Since June 1, a total of 469 samples have been tested in the state, with no deaths reported so far in this ongoing surge.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Manipur has reported 140,185 COVID-19 cases, 137,904 recoveries, and 2,149 deaths. Health authorities have urged the public to maintain strict COVID-appropriate behaviour, especially with the emergence of new subvariants such as LF.7, XFG, JN.1, and NB.1.8.1.
