Manipur & Mizoram Women Held in Bengaluru as DRI Seizes Cocaine Worth Rs 14.69 Crore

In an interstate narcotics trafficking case, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Monday seized seven kilograms of cocaine worth Rs 14.69 crore in Bengaluru.

The drugs were cleverly concealed in soap boxes and recovered during an operation near Cottonpet, according to reports.

Two women, one Laljamluvai from Manipur and one Lalthangliani from Mizoram, have been arrested in connection with the case.

Both hail from the Northeast and are suspected to be part of a well-organised interstate drug smuggling racket.

The bust comes on the heels of another major seizure just days earlier, where the DRI apprehended an Indian male passenger at Kempegowda International Airport with over four kilograms of cocaine hidden inside magazine covers. That consignment was estimated to be worth around Rs 40 crore.

DRI officials believe both incidents may be linked to a larger network and are continuing their investigation into the Northeast–South India drug pipeline.
