In a proud achievement for Manipur’s academic community, Dr. Sanabam Gunajit Mangang, Assistant Professor at Manipur International University (MIU), has earned international recognition with his book Foreign Policy and International Affairs: A Determinant of Domestic Policy being listed in WorldCat, the world’s largest library database, and accepted as a reference book at The Ohio State University, Columbus, USA.
Published by Sunmarg Publisher and Distributors (ISBN: 978-81-19997-27-5), the book challenges the dominant Realist Theory of International Relations which treats national interest as the main driver of foreign policy. Dr. Gunajit proposes a reverse framework, arguing that foreign policy and international relations can influence and shape domestic policies.
His research draws from thinkers such as Niccolò Machiavelli, Thomas Hobbes, E. H. Carr, and Hans Morgenthau, supported by India’s Look East and Act East Policy as a key case study.
