Widespread anger gripped Manipur as locals in Nambol, Hiyangthang, and Mayang Imphal Bengoon Mamang Leikai staged strong protests condemning the ambush on Assam Rifles at Sabal Leikai, Nambol, yesterday.
Two soldiers were martyred and four others injured, including a Meitei soldier, in the attack that has sent shockwaves across the state.
Protesters carried placards, shouted slogans for peace and justice, and demanded an end to violence, stressing that such incidents only deepen the wounds of society.
