Manipur Records Over 3,100 Dengue Cases, Imphal West Worst Hit

The dengue situation in Manipur continues to remain serious, with the state recording 3,114 confirmed cases and one death since January 2025, according to the latest report from the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Manipur.

Till date, a total of 7,054 samples have been tested across the state, of which 77 new positive cases were detected in the past 24 hours. Imphal West remains the worst-hit district, reporting 2,186 cases from 4,200 samples, followed by Imphal East with 556 cases, Bishnupur with 88, and Thoubal with 74.

Other affected districts include Chandel (21 cases), Tamenglong (16), Ukhrul (35), Kakching (38), and Senapati (61). Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Noney, and Kamjong reported fewer than 15 cases each, while Pherzawl has remained unaffected so far.

Extensive control measures are ongoing, with over 1,962 fogging drives, 3,233 source reduction exercises, and 1,526 awareness campaigns carried out across districts. In Imphal West alone, more than 2,300 social media and radio awareness initiatives have been conducted.

Health authorities have urged citizens to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and seek immediate medical attention for fever or rashes.
