Manipur is making its presence felt at the Grand Finale of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts & Guides, underway at the Defence Expo Ground, Sector 15, Vrindavan Yojna, Lucknow.
A team of 41 participants from the state, led by senior officials, is participating in the week-long event being held from November 23 to 29 under the theme “Viksit Yuva – Viksit Bharat.”
The Manipur delegation is represented by State Chief Commissioner Mayanglambam Sushil Kumar, along with officials and scouts and guides from various districts.
The contingent includes scouts from Imphal East (2), Tamenglong (4), Maram (7), Thoubal (4) and guides from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (6), Tamenglong (1), Maram (10).
The scouts’ team is led by Okram Dilipkumar Meitei, State Organising Commissioner (Scouts), while S. Kemolata Devi, State Commissioner (Guides), heads the guides’ group.
The national event, organised by the Uttar Pradesh State Bharat Scouts & Guides, was formally inaugurated by Anandiben Patel, Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
Marking a historic milestone, this year’s jamboree features a series of first-ever attractions, including a two-day synchronised drone show, modern technological showcases, and various cultural innovations celebrating 75 years of Scouting and Guiding in India.
Participants are also engaging in adventure sports from high rope activities to ground-level challenges, alongside specialised workshops on Artificial Intelligence, leadership, creativity, and innovation, aimed at strengthening skills and promoting the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
A defence-focused Air Agniveer exhibition by the Indian Air Force is drawing major attention with its interactive displays and live demonstrations.
Delegations from seven countries and representatives from 60 state and UT units are taking part, with more than 32,000 participants attending the jamboree, including over 300 service rovers and rangers.
