The Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAF & PD) Department, Government of Manipur, has announced the rollout of free LPG connections for eligible women beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) Phase 3.0.
The move follows the Government of India’s release of 25 lakh additional free LPG connections to strengthen women’s empowerment and promote clean cooking fuel.
At a joint press conference held at the DIPR auditorium, Rajjyoti Das, Divisional LPG Sales Head, outlined the eligibility criteria and documents required, noting that many rural and hill households remain uncovered. PMUY Phase 3.0 aims to include all left-out families.
CAF & PD Director K. Bono Singh informed that Manipur has already provided 2,22,010 free LPG connections under PMUY.
District Ujjwala Committees have been formed to ensure proper implementation and prevent ineligible beneficiaries.
