Manipur Sepaktakraw Players, Coach Leave for National Camp in Sonepat

IMPHAL, June 4: A contingent of Sepaktakraw players and a coach from Manipur left Imphal on Thursday after being selected by the Sepaktakraw Federation of India (STFI) for the National Coaching Camp at SAI, NRC-Sonepat, Haryana.

The camp, scheduled from June 4 to June 30, is being conducted as part of India’s preparations for the Asian Games 2026 and other international championships.

According to a communication issued by STFI Secretary General Naresh Kumar, the selected members were directed to report to Coach In-charge Sandeep at SAI NRC-Sonepat on June 4.

The selected members from Manipur include men’s players S. Malemganba Singh, Kh. Holendro Singh, L. Lenchanba Meitei and M. Ashok Singh; women’s players Oinam Chaoba Devi, Chanam Jenifer and Yumnam Malemnganbi; and coach P. Durjit Singh.

Officials of the All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association (AMSTA) congratulated the selected players and coach, stating that their inclusion in the national camp reflects the growing strength of Manipur in the sport. The association expressed confidence that the selected members would perform well during the camp and strengthen their prospects for representing India in upcoming international competitions.

AMSTA further wished the contingent success and urged them to uphold the state’s rich sporting tradition while representing Manipur at the national level.

The federation had requested the state association to ensure the timely reporting of all selected members for the month-long training programme.
