Imphal, March 21: The Manipur Sub-Junior Boys and Girls Sepaktakraw teams departed from Imphal Airport this morning to participate in the 28th Sub-Junior National Championship for Boys & Girls, scheduled to be held from March 23 to 27, 2026 at the Mega Sports Complex in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
The teams were formally seen off from Imphal Airport by AMSTA General Secretary, Ch. Geskant, along with AMSTA President W. Jiten and other officials of the All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association (AMSTA). Officials extended their best wishes to the players and encouraged them to uphold the state’s strong legacy in the sport.
Speaking to the media on behalf of AMSTA, Ch. Geskant said, “Our players have trained well and are fully prepared for the competition. Manipur has always been a strong contender in Sepaktakraw, and we expect our young athletes to give their best and bring laurels to the state.”
The Manipur contingent comprises 30 players in total (boys and girls), accompanied by 4 coaches, 2 team managers, and 4 referees, who will represent the state in various events during the championship.
The championship will witness participation from leading states across the country, with young athletes competing for national honors.
