The Election Commission of India has announced the detailed schedule for the Phase III Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Manipur with July 1, 2026 fixed as the qualifying date.
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, the revision exercise will begin with preparation, training and printing work from May 20 to May 29, 2026. This phase will include preparatory activities for election officials and arrangements related to the revision process.
House-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be conducted across the state from May 30 to June 28, 2026 for voter verification and collection of updated electoral information. During the same period, rationalisation of polling stations will also be completed by June 28.
Officials stated that electors will be provided Enumeration Forms by the concerned BLOs during the house-to-house visits. Voters may also download the Enumeration Form online through the Election Commission website and submit the filled forms either to the concerned BLO or online.
The draft electoral roll will be published on July 5, 2026. Following the publication, the period for filing claims and objections will continue from July 5 to August 4, allowing electors to request corrections, additions or deletions in the voter list.
The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will be carried out from July 5 to September 2, 2026. After completion of the verification and correction process, the final electoral roll will be published on September 6, 2026.
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office stated that Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties will assist BLOs during the enumeration process. Political parties have also been requested to appoint BLAs for every polling station to ensure transparency and wider participation during the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Officials stated that the revision process is aimed at ensuring an accurate, updated and transparent electoral roll with the participation of electors, election officials and political parties.
