Manipur Tourism took the spotlight at the 40th Annual Convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) in Puri, Odisha, held from August 22 to 25, 2025. The state’s participation aims to revitalise its tourism sector by showcasing its cultural heritage and natural attractions to national industry stakeholders.
Led by Director of Tourism Lourembam Bikram, a team of officials and tour operators presented Manipur’s diverse offerings, including the Shirui Lily Festival in May and the Sangai Festival in November. These festivals, along with the state’s rich cultural legacy and scenic landscapes, were highlighted as key attractions to draw domestic and international travellers.
The IATO Convention, one of India’s most significant travel industry gatherings, brought together over ninety percent of the country’s leading tour operators. The event featured keynote sessions, the release of the IATO Manual 2025, and the Hall of Fame Awards. For Manipur, it served as a platform to network with influential stakeholders, explore collaborative strategies, and reinforce its image as a distinctive tourism destination.
Through this engagement, Manipur Tourism seeks to foster sustainable growth, strengthen industry partnerships, and share the state’s unique cultural and natural heritage with wider audiences.
