A blood donation and awareness camp themed “Athoubi Ema Singda Kathokchaba Ee” was organised today at the JNIMS Blood Centre by the Ningol Club and Humanity Service Foundation, with support from Econetwork Manipur under the aegis of the Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS). The event honoured the selfless spirit of mothers and encouraged public participation in lifesaving social service.
FOCS President BM Yaima Shah praised the youths who came forward to donate blood, noting that such acts strengthen society and embody true humanitarian values. He said the growing willingness among young people to donate blood reflects a significant shift toward responsibility, compassion, and community service.
Speaking at the event, Ningol Club Vice-President Moirangthem Prameshwori recalled the courage of Manipuri women during the historic movements of 1904 and 1939, describing them as symbols of resilience whose legacy continues to inspire present generations.
Dr. O. Geetchandra, Associate Professor, JNIMS Blood Centre, briefed donors on essential guidelines for safe blood donation. A total of 25 donors, including several women, volunteered at the camp.
The organisers expressed gratitude to all participants and urged more youths to join future blood donation efforts to save lives and build a healthier, stronger society.
