From among the 33 award recipients of the prestigious ‘Pillars of Hindustani Society’ from around the world under 33 different categories, Manipur-based senior journalist Brown Nongmaithem has received the prestigious award for his fairness and balanced reporting from the conflict zone in Journalism for the year 2025–2026.
Brown Nongmaithem received the award this evening. The award is instituted by the Trans Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TACCI) and the Trans Asian Chamber & Indo Mongolian Chamber (IMCCI), Mumbai, during a joint anniversary celebration marking the 27th Anniversary of TACCI and the 32nd Anniversary of IMCCI. The event was held at the Ballroom of the Royal Mumbai Yacht Club, Gateway of India.
Brown is currently engaged as a Correspondent of The New Observer Post and as Chief Bureau of the news portal Indian Observer Post from Manipur, Northeast India. He has been contributing news on Manipur for the last 25 years on platforms such as The News File, The Sunday Indian (magazine), News Observer Post, and Indian Observer Post, which were published in both Hindi and English. In The Sunday Indian, his stories were published in fourteen Indian languages. This is the first-ever award received by Brown Nongmaithem in his entire professional career.
The awards were presented to recognise individuals (both men and women) who have made outstanding, genuine, and remarkable contributions to Indian society across various fields of arts, culture, and professionalism. The awards are designed to honour individuals purely on merit, without expecting favours in return, in recognition of their role in strengthening society, the organisers said.
The award ceremony was attended by H.E. Mariano Agustín Caucino, Ambassador of Argentina, and Justice Shreehari Daawara (Retd) as Chief Guest at the award felicitation, along with other dignitaries as Guests of Honour.
