Keirenphabi, Dec 28: Thanga MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh on Sunday said he listened to the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat at his residence in Keirenphabi along with BJP Bishnupur District General Secretary Iboyaima Heisnam and party workers.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the Prime Minister, during the programme, highlighted several inspiring initiatives from Manipur that reflect innovation, responsibility, and grassroots development. He said Moirangthem Seth was specifically mentioned for his efforts in promoting renewable energy through solar power, which has helped transform challenges into opportunities for many communities.
According to the MLA, the solar energy initiative has brought electricity to households, strengthened healthcare services, generated livelihood opportunities, and encouraged the participation of women at the grassroots level. He said such initiatives demonstrate how sustainable solutions can bring long-term social and economic benefits.
Robindro Singh further said that an entrepreneur from Churachandpur district was also acknowledged during the programme for contributions to the handicrafts sector, where employment has been created for around 50 people. In addition, an achiever from Senapati district received recognition for work in handicrafts and allied activities, highlighting the potential of traditional skills in generating sustainable livelihoods.
The MLA said the recognition given to Manipuri achievers in Mann Ki Baat reflects how the youth of the state are embracing innovation and social responsibility. He added that such efforts are contributing towards building a greener, self-reliant, and sustainable future in line with national development goals.
He expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister’s continued focus on Manipur and said the acknowledgement of grassroots initiatives would further motivate young people to contribute positively to society. He also said that such recognition brings hope and confidence to the people of the state.
