Mao Council Felicitates Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho at Tadubi

March 14: The Mao Council on Saturday felicitated Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho at Tadubi, expressing appreciation for his leadership and responsibilities in the state government.

The programme was held at the Mao Council Secretariat Complex, where a monolith was blessed and unveiled at the start of the event by Rev. A. Pfokrelo, Executive Secretary of the Mao Baptist Churches Association.

In his welcome address, Mao Council President N. Athikho Joseph said the community was proud of Dikho’s appointment as Deputy Chief Minister and acknowledged the trust placed in him by both the Union Ministry and the state government. He also commended the Deputy Chief Minister for travelling across different parts of Manipur to promote peace and normalcy amid the prevailing situation in the state.

Joseph described the felicitation as an occasion for the community to recognise Dikho’s contributions to both the district and the state, and expressed hope that he would continue serving the people with wisdom and dedication.

Addressing the gathering, Dikho thanked the Mao community and various organisations for the warm reception and gifts presented to him during the programme. He said the support and prayers of the people had helped him attain the position and encouraged him to continue serving the state.

Referring to the ongoing budget session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister said the state government was making continuous efforts to restore peace and normalcy. He added that the government remained committed to inclusive development and sought the cooperation of the people in implementing future development initiatives.

During the programme, several community organisations, women’s groups and student bodies presented gifts and certificates of appreciation to the Deputy Chief Minister. Traditional Naga shawls, local produce, fruits and vegetables were among the items presented as a mark of respect.

Officials and representatives of the Mao Council and its units from Dimapur, Kohima and Senapati attended the felicitation programme.
