As part of the “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan” campaign being conducted across various places from September 17 to October 2, District Health Society Thoubal organised a Mega Health Camp on Thursday at Thoubal Haokha Mamang Leikai Community Hall.
It may be mentioned here that Thoubal Haokha area is one of the places severely affected by the recent flood.
At today’s health camp, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Hannah Kahmei, IAS, attended as the chief guest, while Director, Health Services, Manipur, Dr. N. Hemantakumar Singh attended as president, and CMO Thoubal Dr. Y. Nokul Singh, District Hospital Thoubal MS Dr. W. Ruhinikumar, Thoubal Municipal Council caretaker councillors Kh. Thambal and N. Shanti Devi participated as guests of honour.
Stalls like NCD Clinic, Dermatology, Oral CA Screening, PMR, Gynaecology, ENT, Ortho, Eye, ABHA ID creation and others were opened during the camp. It also provided free check-ups, and essential medicines were distributed.
Moreover, District Health Society Thoubal provided walking sticks to elderly people, food baskets to TB patients, and spectacles to needy people. Health cards were also distributed.
Speaking at the event, DC Thoubal Hannah Kahmei appreciated District Health Society Thoubal for organising such a health camp in areas hit by the flood. She also extended gratitude to doctors and other health staff for participating beyond their routine duties, showing appreciation for their efforts.
The DC also appealed to the people to acknowledge the services rendered by Government officials and added that District Administration Thoubal and District Health Society Thoubal assured continued support for the community.
