Miscreants Break Windows of Newly Constructed School Building

Kakching, January 4: Unidentified miscreants have broken the windows of a newly constructed building of Wabagai Higher Secondary School, located at Wabagai under the jurisdiction of Hiyanglam Police Station in Kakching district.

According to information received, the incident took place during the late hours over the past few days. Taking advantage of the absence of a night watchman at the school, the miscreants allegedly entered the campus at night and removed the fittings. In total, doors and windows from five rooms of the newly constructed building have been broken.

As of now, it is not known who committed the act or for what purpose the doors and windows were removed.

When contacted regarding the incident, officials of Hiyanglam Police Station stated that no complaint has been lodged so far by the school authority. They added that appropriate action would be taken once a formal complaint is filed.

It may be recalled that Wabagai Higher Secondary School was upgraded to higher secondary level in 2021. However, the school continues to face several difficulties even today. Notably, due to the non-sanctioning of a separate post for the higher secondary section, Classes XI and XII are being conducted by utilising available teachers, creating additional challenges for the institution.
