Sarangthem Nirupama, who won the title of “Miss Popular” and secured the 4th Runner-up position at the Miss Universe India pageant held on August 18 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, was felicitated on Friday by the Sarangthem Sagei Apunba Chaokhat Tousil Tengbang Lup (SSACTTL) at Apokpa Shanglen, Sarangthem, Kakching Khunou.
At the program, Nirupama was honoured with a Lengyan phi (traditional scarf), a memento, and gifts in recognition of her achievement. Members of the gathering praised her success, saying it had brought pride to the community, and expressed confidence that she would achieve greater milestones in the future.
The event was attended by SSACTTL President Sarangthem Sanatomba, Advisors S. Ibopishak, S. Naran, S. Achou, S. Ningthemjao, and S. Prafullo, along with many members of the Sarangthem clan.
Nirupama, who hails from Kakching district’s Kakching Khunou Lamhaba Leikai, is the daughter of Sarangthem Rajen and Sarangthem Ongbi Mangolei. Her recognition at the national pageant has brought immense pride to her native place.
