March 27, 2025: Eleven days have passed, yet the whereabouts of 20-year-old Mukesh from Imphal, who went missing on the 16th of this month, remain unknown. It is as if the young man vanished into thin air along with his red-colored Alto car.
In connection with the missing case of the 20-year-old, the MLA of Keishamthong AC, Sapam Nishikanta, met Manipur Governor AK Bhalla this afternoon to highlight the plight of the parents and to call his attention to overseeing the search efforts. The MLA informed that the Governor is being updated daily on the efforts made. He also stated that he has held discussions with the Brigadier and the Director General of Manipur Police regarding the issue.
The JAC had earlier demanded immediate action from the state and central authorities, terming the government’s initiatives for free movement as meaningless if people disappear and never return.
CCTV footage reportedly shows Mukesh’s vehicle near Kuki-dominated villages in Bishnupur district, around 30 km from Imphal. His mother, Luwangthem Omila Devi, has already filed a police complaint, but his whereabouts remain unknown.
