MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan of the Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency reached out to fire-affected families in the locality of Muslim Basti in the Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh and extended immediate financial assistance to the victim families on Friday.
The raging flames that broke out on October 25 completely burned down at least 11 houses, rendering 18 families homeless. Firefighters from the Moreh Fire Sub-Station doused the fire, which was later joined and supported by the Tamu Fire Services from Myanmar.
During his visit, the MLA also inspected the damaged site and assured the affected families that he would apprise the situation to the Manipur Governor and Chief Secretary to seek further assistance for rehabilitation.
The MLA also inaugurated the newly constructed gate of Jama Masjid in Moreh, which was donated by him, and held a meeting with the Moreh Manipuri Muslim Council to discuss further relief measures and long-term community development plans.
