Imphal : Jan 19
Keirao MLA L. Rameshwar, while addressing the inauguration of the new office of the Youth Guidance Club (YGC) at Keirao Makting Mayai Leikai in Imphal East, stressed the need for local clubs to be stronger in order to tackle the growing issues of theft, loot, abduction, and gang culture in the state.
In his speech, Rameshwar, who also serves as the Chairman of the PDA, urged the Meetei and Meetei-Pangal communities to avoid falling prey to rumours and to focus on peaceful coexistence amidst the ongoing challenges they face, particularly being denied settlement in the hill districts.
He highlighted the critical role of local clubs in addressing the surge in criminal activities, calling on the public to immediately report any instances of monetary demands or illegal activities to the local clubs or police stations.
“Together, we must work as a community to tackle these issues effectively,” Rameshwor stated, highlighting the importance of collective action in ensuring peace and safety.
The inauguration programme, presided over by YGC President Khatabuddin Shah, also saw the presence of Imphal East’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Lourembam Indira Devi, as the guest of honour.
