MLA RK Imo Singh Inaugurates Rainwater Harvesting System at Kalimai Mandir

March 21, 2025 : In a bid to promote sustainable water conservation practices, the MLA of Sagolband, RK Imo Singh, inaugurated a Rainwater Harvesting System at Kalimai Mandir in Ward No. 24.

The inauguration was attended by G. Bino, Corporator of Ward No. 24, Shri RK Jiten Singh, Corporator of Ward No. 7, along with community leaders and local residents.

It marks a significant step towards water resource management in the region, following the recent installation of similar systems in Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi (Ward No. 10) and Sagolband Mabudhou Mantri Leikai (Ward No. 7). Another system is also set to be launched at Kakhulong in Ward No. 24 soon.

During the event, MLA RK Imo Singh emphasized the importance of rainwater harvesting as an essential practice, not only in water-scarce areas but also in places with sufficient water resources. He explained how such initiatives contribute to sustainable development and water conservation, benefiting both the community and future generations.

Additionally, the MLA provided updates on other development projects, including the completion of a double-storey multipurpose building at Babupara, near the DC Bungalow Office. The building, which was proposed by the local community, has a ground floor for Meira Paibi activities and an upper floor for office space. The building is now ready for handover and will be inaugurated soon, ensuring its timely use by the community.
