BJP MLA Y. Khemchand hailed the Centre for its initiatives to reopen National Highway-2 for the free movement of commuters and essential goods after it remained blocked for the past 24 months. The move came after a series of meetings between the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and a delegation of the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) in New Delhi.
Reacting to the development, Yumnam Khemchand, MLA of Singjamei Assembly Constituency, expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by the Centre. He extended gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for their leadership in bringing about this significant step toward restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
Khemchand also acknowledged the efforts of MHA officials, stakeholders, and CSOs who played key roles in the process. He emphasized the importance of moving beyond past differences and urged the people of Manipur to work together toward building an inclusive and progressive society rooted in communal harmony and mutual respect.
