In a development for the state’s higher education sector, the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat has nominated two sitting MLAs to the Board of Management of Manipur Technical University (MTU), Imphal.
The nominations were made following a request from the university authorities, aiming to strengthen administrative and policy-level decisions in the institution.
According to an official notification issued by the Secretary of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, the nominations were approved by the Speaker of the Assembly in response to MTU’s letter No: 22/1/2016-MTU dated May 8, 2025.
The nominated legislators are Surjakumar Okram, MLA of Khangabok Assembly Constituency, and Sheikh Noorul Hassan, MLA of Khetrigao Assembly Constituency.
