The house of the hardcore BJP Minority Morcha President Askar Ali Makakmayum has been arsoned by a group of Muslim mob at Lilong in Thoubal on Sunday night.
The BJP leader recently posted his support for the Bill on Facebook (controversial).
Earlier, he was also intimidated and suspected to be threatened and asked to clarify on the post and statement he made, and later, a video also appeared on social media of the BJP member asking for forgiveness.
One local leader, who looked like a cleric, also said there are people who are identified as Muslim but who are different from our religion like Kohra, Agakhani, Shian, and such people are used by RSS to voice for them, and such people were used to voice support for the Bill, made them paste posters on byways etc.
While many Muslim communities have opposed the bill, Askar Ali’s open endorsement sparked outrage among the Muslim community in Manipur.
