Noney, November 4: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar visited Noney district on Tuesday and held a detailed review of administrative and development activities with district authorities at the DC Conference Hall.
The Minister was received at Longmai Common Ground, temporarily converted into a helipad, by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sharath Chandra Arroju, IAS, Superintendent of Police Namsadai Peter Kamei, and other senior officials. Upon arrival at the DC Office Complex, he inspected departmental stalls showcasing district-level initiatives, followed by an interaction with the DC, SP, and line departments regarding key schemes and projects.
Officials highlighted challenges faced during the implementation of central and state programmes and requested intervention from the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure smooth execution. Kumar assured coordination and support for overcoming hurdles and accelerating development efforts in the district.
The Minister later interacted with community leaders and self-help groups, took part in a plantation drive, and visited the world’s tallest railway pier bridge site in Noney as part of the day’s schedule. District officers from both Noney and Tamenglong attended the review programme.
